It takes 4 hours to set up and test the computers, the WAN connection, the sound system.
We need three compures

An encoder machine - this machine does nothing but encode sound and send it out the net. Well, it also handles IP routing and provides network services for the other two machines. This machine should run Windows/NT and have IP routing.
A chat room administrator machine. This machine also can handle electronic mail.
An audio monitoring machine. This monitors the sound quality by listening to the server. Yes, have two sound streams does double the bandwidth requirement. We can turn off listening and turn it on again as needed. Also, this machine can serve as a spare for the others.

Wiring diagram - two copies (one for us, one for the house engineering). Include impedence, levels, jacks
test, test, test!
Cell phone
Associate with a PC and a sound card, to monitor the show (at some distant location, not at the conference)
Delegate! Have a clear list of things to do.
Extra cables - have one spare of everything!
Bungee cords and fluffy towels. To keep things from falling.
